Sharad Gaikwad spent more than ten years trading US stocks on professional desks. During those years he kept seeing the same story in India: friends, relatives and colleagues losing money on tip groups, "sure shot" calls and courses that promised daily income. Most of them were smart, careful people in every other part of their lives. What they didn't have was a clear, honest way to learn.
Stock Classes Pune was started to fill that gap. It's deliberately small: one classroom in Katraj, batches of up to 15 students, and every class taught by Sharad himself. The syllabus for every course is written down and published before anyone pays. Every example uses past market data. And from day one, the institute has been education only, with no tips, no calls and no promises about returns.
Today we run eight courses, from complete basics to options and legal currency trading, in English and Marathi, in the classroom and live online. Students come from across Pune: IT professionals from Hinjewadi and Kharadi, homemakers and retirees from Katraj and Sinhagad Road, college students and small business owners. What they have in common is that they want to understand the market properly.
